Refined Linseed Oil is the most commonly used oil by artists. It is drawn from the seed by alkali refining. It is paler than cold pressed oil which many artists prefer, and is perfect for reducing the consistency of paint. It increases gloss and transparency as well as slowing the drying rate of oil paint. It is the most economical oil as it can be bought in larger sizes. It is the slowest drying oil (except Stand oil).
